Reckonings Guild Manifest
Purpose
Our purpose is to create a friendly functional environment where people can pursue their goals in the game. Our focus as a guild will be maintaining with equal priority but with separate structure the ability of our members to raid and to play casually. Reckoning will at its heart be one home; every member will be treated with respect and have an avenue to discuss concerns and issues.
We intend with our raid force to explore all game content.
Structure and Function
Designations:
Reckoning will be divided amongst two player chosen designations, Epsilon(Raider) and Delta(Casual).
Members who choose Epsilon will be subject to the guidelines regarding focused players as well as our standard code of conduct. This will include minimum event attendance and minimum gear requirements based on the current guild content. This will also include acceptance of event rules and expectations.
Members who choose Delta will be subject to the guild code of conduct. They will be under no obligation to any set play time or gear requirements. No pressure will be leveled against them to attend raids or events.
There is no rank difference between our designations; every member is of equal importance.
Designation Change Requests
If a focused player wished to resign to casual he or she is free to do so. No DKP is forfeited and there is no punishment. If a member states their desire to change designation and it is granted you must maintain that status for at least 30 days.
If a casual player wishes to become part of the focused designation they will be required to apply based on the class needs of the Raid force and be expected to meet all requirements of it. The desire to raid will not supplant those that are already raiding and simply requesting the change in designation will not guarantee a spot on events or raids.
Exceptions to the above may be made based on need but do not expect these to be frequent.
The membership structure will be as follows:
Muted: Used for disciplinary functions
Alpha: Applicant level rank
Epsilon and Delta =Equal ranks that denote raid or casual status
Zeta: Junior officer (Specialty functions)
Omicron: Senior Officer
Omega
Omicron will be expected to handle normal duties, such as maintaining order and handling invites as needed. They will also be expected to fill a role; there will be no dead weight officers.
Zeta are junior level officers with access to the officers forum and specific functions such as ,Quartermaster, etc.
While all decisions will be discussed amongst the officers the final decision making authority lies with the guild master.
Reckonings General Code of Conduct
These rules apply to all members regardless of designation.
Article I - Activity
By joining Reckoning we are expecting and hoping you will become an active part of our guild; doing so will help foster a helpful, dynamic environment.
If you will be off line for a long period of time please post on the Leave Section of the forum your estimated time off line. While this is not a punishable requirement doing so will ensure you are not demoted or removed based on inactivity.
If you post a leave you will be placed on leave and not subject to any time based removals or demotions.
Assuming no leave is posted, if you are inactive for 45 days you will be placed in MIA status. If you are still inactive after 45 additional days you will be removed. Exceptions will not be made to this policy. Please use the Leave policy if it applies to you.
Article II - Accountability
You are responsible for your actions. There are no exceptions. Reckoning will not tolerate
any disrespectful behavior to fellow members or towards the general population. If you are considering whether a behavior may cross that line assume it will and don’t do it.
All officers will be given the rights to kick a member and barring gross abuses of power I will back them up. If you are asked to cease a behavior and do not, you will be first muted in guild chat. If you continue to be disruptive you will be de-guilded subject to right of appeals explained below. If you are still being disruptive and impacting guild members or general game play you will be petitioned by an officer or me when I get online.
Article III - Communication
Reckoning communication will exist in the following manners.
Guild chat
Dedicated Chat Channel
Forums
Ventrillo
Each method has its relevant use as defined below.
Guild chat should be used for general, day to day, common sense communication. Guild chat will not be used for airing a grievance or spamming an idea to make a point.
We will be creating a dedicated chat channel in game due to the limitations of guilds until they level. This will allow us to “tag” members whom are unable to join if our level limit does not allot it. This channel should be treated as guild chat is.
Our forums will be our main vehicle for communication. As an active member you are expected to be aware of relevant issues being discussed there. If you miss an event or information due to not using the forums you have the problem, fix it.
*Please see below for grievance and suggestion communication.
Ventrillo will be used for normal group and raiding. Please use common sense here as well. Outbursts will be dealt with by a ventrillo suspension; not having access to ventrillo will exclude you from raids and guild events.
Article IV – Appeals, Input, and Grievance resolution
The goal of this section is to create a set fluid process for handling input and issues that require a cool head and the proper information to resolve. This will also ensure each member feels listened too and each officer is able to fill their role and still enjoy the game.
Any arguments that arise in guild chat will be taken to tells or to a channel in vent. Continued use of guild chat for an argument or ventrillo public channels will result in actions taken as described above in Article III.
Complaints and Suggestions:
If you feel a member has violated our charter, character, or a specific rule you should do the following:
• Send a tell to the officer online to see if it requires immediate action.
• If the officer(s) do not feel it does see below:
o Send a PM to an officer and asked your complaint be posted in the officer section for consideration. If you are not willing to put the issue in writing it isn’t an issue.
• If you have a suggestion for the guild please post in the suggestions section of the forum for everyone to comment on and talk over. This discussion should remain as civil as possible. I won’t censor the forum for disagreeing with an idea but I will lock posts that become personal. Posting a suggestion is not a promise it will be done but it is a commitment it will be looked at.
NOTE: There is very little in the game that must be resolved right now, all officers will have the ability and authority to make needed decisions and will be expected to maintain guild order as needed. If you communicate an issue to someone and they direct you here please follow up on that advice and do not spam them in game. If you disagree and feel an issue needs to be dealt with right now and they disagree and tell you to use the channels above, log off and calm down.
Appeals
During the course of time there will be moments when an officer or member acts in a way that is wrong. In regards to this there is an appeals process. If you feel wronged in any regard you may appeal the decision made and have it reviewed by the entire officer core.
Typically this will relate to decisions made by an acting officer in game that required them to be made in a quick fashion. This could include being asked to bring a certain character for an event or being disciplined. If you feel the decision was wrong I would ask you do your best to obey the decision during the time it’s made and use the following procedure. Throwing a massive temper tantrum, abusing guild chat, etc will not win you points.
• Create a PM and send it to at least three officers including myself. This ensures your information is checked by three people.
• I will post the issue in the officers section and we will review the information.
• You will be give fair opportunity via ventrillo and PM’s to state your case and any rebuttals.
• Your issue will be decided by within 5 days, the decision of the officers is final.
